Signing up for an Envelope Account is simple and only takes a few minutes.

To get started, download the Envelope iOS or Android app from the App Store or Play Store and complete the application.

Most accounts are approved and opened the same day, and many are opened immediately. To apply, you’ll need to provide your:

• Name

• Address

• Phone number

• Email address

• Date of birth

• Social Security Number

In some cases, we may ask for additional information or documents to confirm your identity. We only request this when necessary. If you’re opening an account with a partner, you’ll also need to provide their information.

Once your account is opened, you’ll be prompted to deposit funds and start setting up your budget. Your account and routing numbers will be available right away, so you can begin setting up direct deposit with your employer.

A virtual card will also be issued immediately and can be used for online purchases or added to Apple Pay or Google Pay for in-person purchases. Your physical card will be mailed to the address provided during signup and typically arrives within 5 to 10 business days.
