Ways to deposit money
Envelope supports several ways to add money. The best method depends on where the funds are held and how quickly you need them.
Direct deposit
Give your Envelope account and routing numbers to your employer or benefits provider. Eligible deposits may be available up to two days before the scheduled payment date, depending on when the sender submits the payment file. See Direct deposit.
ACH transfer from another bank
For the fastest ACH option, initiate a transfer from the bank currently holding the money:
Open that bank's app or website.
Search for Envelope through Plaid Exchange, or add your Envelope account and routing numbers manually.
Send the transfer to Envelope.
ACH pushes commonly take one to three business days and may arrive the same day. Pulling money from a linked account inside Envelope can take up to five business days because the balance and transfer must be verified. See How to make ACH transfers faster.
Payment apps
Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Apple Cash, and similar services can send funds to Envelope after you connect your Envelope account or debit card. The provider controls its own transfer times, limits, and fees. See Connect payment apps.
Mobile check deposit
Deposit an eligible check from Move Money in the Envelope app. Processing times apply. See Mobile check deposit for endorsement and photo instructions.
Cash deposit
Use your Envelope debit card at a participating Allpoint+ ATM that accepts cash deposits. Verify that the ATM supports deposits before beginning the transaction. Standard account limits apply.
Wire transfer
Envelope supports incoming domestic wires and outgoing domestic wires for qualified members. Incoming wire instructions depend on the sending institution. For an outgoing wire, see Send a wire transfer.
Never send money based only on instructions received in an unexpected email, text, or call. Confirm wire and account details through a trusted channel before transferring funds.
