Joint accounts
Envelope joint accounts let two adults manage the same household account together. Each partner receives a separate card and card number while sharing the account balance, account number, envelopes, transactions, deposits, and transfers.
Before you start
Both partners must meet Envelope's account eligibility requirements.
Each partner uses their own legal information, phone number, and login.
One partner opens the initial Envelope account and sends the invitation.
Invite your partner
The first partner completes account creation and opens the Envelope app.
Open the Account tab.
Select Account Details.
Tap Invite Partner.
Enter the partner's legal first name and phone number.
The partner opens the invitation sent by text message and completes their application.
After the invitation is accepted and the partner is approved, finish creating the joint account from Account Details.
Both partners can then deposit, transfer, withdraw, budget, and spend from the shared account. Each person should use their own card rather than sharing card credentials.
If the invitation does not arrive or the information was entered incorrectly, contact Envelope Support from the app.
